a joke for health policy-minded people
Jane, a long time health policy researcher and professional dies and goes up to the pearly gates. When she reaches the gates she has just one question that she is desperate for an answer.
She pleads to St.Peter..."I've been working my entire life for universal health care in the United States - I must know - will it ever happen!?"
St. Peter says "hmm...this is a tough question. I think we need to bring this to the top" so St. Peter brings Jane up to God and repeats the question.
God replies "Yes...the U.S. health care system...Universal Health Care would be excellent and after all your work to help the greater good I think you deserve an answer."
"Yes, one day Universal health care will exist in the United States...but not in my lifetime"
