The man - the... apartment manager? right? - who brought me to this room told me things would be different... but things are really different. Everything is almost the same color, and I am not quite sure why someone would decide to make everything out of the same gray stone. It's ugly. Yes, as Athena mentioned,we are far from Greece, both in distance and in time. The phrase you saw corresponds to certain movie I'm considering to buy, which is called "300". Quite an eye catching name.

Oh, it's a very interesting technological advance. As far as I'm concerned, it's the succession of several images at a very fast pace, which causes the optical illusion of movement.
