Remember the weight of the world is a sound that we used to buy, on cassette and on 45's.

I've noticed that when I come back from New York, I'm always happier than I was when I left. This weekend is the most extreme example of that statement.

I left for New York Friday around noon and met Kelly at Starbucks on 34th and 7th after some confusion. We caught up over a gingerbread latte and tea and headed uptown for dinner. We wandered into a diner that turned out to be the diner featured in Seinfeld. So after a delicious sandwich at the happened-upon famous establishment, we went to Braodway to catch "High Fidelity: The Musical." Besides that fact that Kelly's father paid for the tickets AND it was my first ever Broadway show, I have one thing to say about this play: There is a song called "Why Can't I Be Like The Boss?" Possibly the pinnacle of my existance.

On Saturday we walked around in ridiculously nice weather for December, saw the big Christas tree (well, I did. Kelly apparently didn't even realize we walked right past it.), up fifth ave and through Central Park. We went to the Met for a few hours and after a bit of wayward traveling, we met up with Jared! And we've discovered that Jared is freakishly nice. Well I guess I already knew that; I adore that kid. He's going to Israel for a year after graduation to write a book. He has a literary agent and everything. Sometimes I feel massively unaccomplished.

We went and got dinner and then caught a movie at the Loewe's in Times Square, random, I know, but it was fun and Kelly treated me. I missed that girl so much. She was such a good hostess and between her and her dad's generosity, I got to have an amazing weekend on a very small budget.
