I love having brunch on Sundays with my friends. I love not knowing where we're going and what we're going to eat. I just follow and let myself be surprised.
Yesterday, Steve told us to meet at Tanjong Pagar station and refused to tell us where he was going to bring us. Turns out he wanted to have brunch at
Vanilla Cafe but it was closed. So we walked to the main road to take a cab while Steve racked his brilliant brain for more quaint brunch places. We decided to head to Dempsey to try our luck, but within less than five minutes on the road, Steve suddenly told the cab driver to take us to Clarke Quay instead, to a place called
Room with a View. I told him that if the place is closed as well, he'd have to give us a treat, and it was. So we took a cab again to our next destination:
Food for Thought on Queen Street. The place was open, but then we noticed a sign at the entrance that said, 'Closed for Private Function'. Bummer.
We ended up having brunch at
Joe & Dough. Although by the time we reached the place, it was already after two and our brunch became lunch. Fantastic sandwiches though. I had Italian Parma Ham and it was scrumptiously divine.
I loved our little brunch hunt adventure; looking forward to our next Sunday brunch!
