Dr Rafik to the rescue!
Here's something worthy to post on my eljay.
There's a suspicious lump sitting on my collarbone, and I noticed it this afternoon. I freaked out, gave Rafik a call, and he told me it should be an infected lymph node. But the paranoid and pessimistic self could not help but conjure images of what ifs... What if it's a tumor? What if I need surgery to remove it? What if I only have 3 months to live cuz it's the terminal cancer?
Haha, silly me, I left class early, spent $15 on cab fare, another $36 on consultation, only to be diagnosed as an inflamed lymph node. Doctor told me to monitor it, should it swell up or have discharge, I gotta seek help immediately. Wow, big deal I have an inflamed lymph node and I thought it's the end of the world, silly Hilda.
I suppose I know what could've led to this; I scrubbed the blister on my toe with a pumice stone til it was sore and without any protective layer of skin! Bummer, I just checked my toe sore, it looks ugleh!
All in all, I was just so uptight and worried. Afterall, it isn't everyday you find a lump on your neck and think that it's normal.
