Author's Notes: This is what happens when you watch an entire season of Gossip Girl in two days. I've become addicted to the show, to the ships, to the whole thing... so here you go. My first attempt at fan-fic in six months. Let's hope I don't suck, yeah? Comments are love, my friends. Love and cookies.

She's brushed her teeth three times, but her mouth still tastes sour and sick. It's not there, that taste - she knows it isn't, but the ghost of it still lingers. She brushes her teeth once more before she cuts off the water, glances up at the mirror.

She expects to see her eyes, red from crying and with running mascara, the prints of tears on her cheeks. She expects the tip of her nose to be red. She expects that she'll have to wash her face before she goes back to the party, fix her makeup. And of course, she expects the self-loathing to be there, staring back at her the way it always is. Why aren't you thinner? Why aren't you stronger? Why do you care what they think? Why don't they think of you the right way? You're weak, so weak...

She doesn't expect the calm blue eyes that meet hers when she can finally face herself - doesn't expect him to be hovering there in the doorway. He's leaning there casually, his perfect lips settled into a straight line, with quiet eyes. Just waiting - waiting for her to be finished, waiting for her to see him, waiting for her to stop fucking herself up. For a long moment, all she can do is stare at him in the mirror, horrified by what he just saw. How much did he see? What does he know? Is he going to tell?

"I'll need to have a long talk with Dorota about the caterers," she starts, trying to play everything off with a bright smile and cheerful eyes. But when she turns to face him, he doesn't move, doesn't smile, doesn't buy it... he never bought it. Still, she brazens onward. "The shrimp must have been bad, I'll just go..." Desperate, she tries to slide around his larger body and leave. His hand catches hers, though.

Her mask falls away, the way it always does when he touches her. Her dark eyes drop, the smile fades from her lips. She doesn't resist when he pulls her close, only buries her face in the curve of his neck. He smells good, expensive, familiar. High-end cologne and cashmere. His hand finds her hair, and she lets him stroke her curls wordlessly for a long time. He doesn't have to say anything, she's glad he doesn't say anything - that he just holds her, just lays his cheek against the top of her head and holds her there while the party below them continues without missing a beat.

"Nate..."

"Tomorrow," he finally says, and she closes her eyes to relish the sound of his voice. "We'll go see your doctor tomorrow before school, Blair."
