I WILL MELT YOUR EYES

Because I'm cool like that.

I'm gonna leave a bunch of stuff here.  Icons first, okay?  I've got "Avatar: The Last Airbender" in animated form and some Korra.  I also have animated My Little Ponies.  How cool is that?  Cool?  Yeah.  So.  Please take my icons.  I make them and have no room for them; I want them to be used.  You don't have to credit me if you don't feel like it, but I definitely don't mind the shout-out.  Just use them?

No fancy tables for you.  Sorry, but that ain't happenin' after three in the morning.

These are the best icons I have ever made.  Ever.  So take them.  And then share them.

NOW, because clearly your eyes haven't bled enough, pictures of my lovely doll!  Katie gave her to me.  She's Russian (of course) and her name is Pavlina (Pasha) Antonova Koshkanov.  My therapist was more alarmed by her name than by the fact that I've been trying to make clothes and wigs for a doll.  Eh.

Pasha had a wig, but it was kind of balding.  The first wig I made was... not so good.  This second one is huge, but much better.  I made the wig cap by putting plastic wrap over Pavlina Antonova's head, coating the areas that would need hair with glue (lots of glue), and then cutting the wig cap to shape after letting it dry.  I then layered silver wool roving on using tacky glue.  The wig fits so, so well even if it's HUGE.  I did splurge a bit; I saw the very same wig she came with (in non-balding form!) on Ebay for a bit of a deal, so I bought it.  Until that arrives, though, she will have Big Hair.

I'm trying to teach myself how to sew.  It's interesting and, I'm sure, kind of hilarious to watch.  This is the first proper piece of clothing I've managed.  I based it off of an "Italian Chemise" pattern for people, using Maths to fix proportions and the like.  Cloth was an old bedsheet that Mother left hanging on the back of the computer chair too long.  It's very tidy inside; I think I used a French seam.  I mean, the directions said to and I tried, so it's kind of a French seam.  Yeah.  Um.  I didn't make the pants.  Next on the "to make" list is a red skirt.

Pasha also has a necklace that was a pain in the ass to make, but very pretty.  I mutilated one of my scrap necklaces (I have a bunch of old jewelry from yard sales and the like) for a fine chain, put a lobster claw clasp in back, and then added a shiny Swarovski crystal using a... dangly thing?  You know, the things people use to make things hang off of bracelets.  Shhh.

Anyway.  I'm kind of pleased with myself and I've wanted a pretty doll to dress and take pictures of since I found the internet and discovered their existence, so... pictures!

BEFORE PICTURE:

Pavlina has a cupcake.

Showin' off da bling.

Kind of showing the clip-on earring that's holding her 'do in place.

She's either thinking or being eaten alive by her wig.

Pasha demonstrates the off-the-shoulder option.

I think I am very artsy indeed.

So yes!  I am pleased.  Pasha is going to Grandmother's with me. Oh, I didn't tell you I would be out of town, did I?  Probably because I didn't know untill this evening.  Ah well.  I'm not taking Dave, but I'll borrow my mother's laptop to check in on plurk and see how everyone's doing.

Happy three-day weekend!

(Also, dear LJ: You made this VERY DIFFICULT to post.  I do not approve of your "improvements.")
