Because I am a dork and I love AUs, here are basic biographies for Justin, Penny, and Lulu Bell. I'll link to them in entries so non-friends can see, since they're basically just for reference. Fff... if any of your characters want to know any of mine from various places, it's all good. ♥ Go ahead and gimme a shout-out here if you have questions or want to run anything by me?
I am such a dork and I should be doing homework or something useful... ah ha ha.
Name:
Justin PendletonSchool: Westerberg High
Position: Student (Senior)
Clubs: Chess Club
Former Schools/Education History:
- Formerly a student at Cutlers Grammar School
- Transferred to Westerberg High in the middle of his sophomore year
Justin is one of those kids who is relatively invisible, soft-spoken, academically brilliant, and, frankly, kind of creepy. He attended Cutlers Grammar School for a few years, but transferred to Westerberg when his parents divorced. It's no secret that his father disappeared after the divorce (some of the more creative students at Westerberg might speculate that Justin had a direct hand in his father's "disappearance," but none of the rumors are true); it's also no secret that he might have questionable philosophical views, as evidenced by some of the
essays he has written.
Justin has been a member of Chess Club since sophomore year. He's a thoughtful, skilled player. He has little time for other clubs, as he takes his studies and his various tutoring duties very seriously. The only class he doesn't excel in is gym, which he conveniently misses as often as humanly possible. When he's not engaged in other duties, Justin can usually be found in the library or outside with his nose in a book--philosophy or poetry.
There is no doubt that Justin falls firmly into the "nerd" category, and he experiences some bullying as a result. His relative inoffensiveness saves him from most bullies, although those who insult him verbally may well get a scathing verbal response. Justin doesn't have any real friends, although he occasionally talks to his fellow outcasts. He's woefully awkward around girls, with the exception of Shilo. She's the closest he has to a real friend.
The two people Justin dislikes the most are Chase and Rudy. Chase (who doesn't even go to the school!) has largely taken away his usefulness as a science tutor, as students tend to flock to the richer, more attractive, private-school attendee. It doesn't help that Chase seems to think he's intellectually superior. Rudy, however, is even worse. Rudy is younger and good at everything, including talking to girls. And chess. Rudy antagonizes Justin and it's only a matter of time before Justin snaps back.

Name:
Lulu Bell (Miss Bell)School: Trinity Hall Girls School
Position: French Teacher (all levels), unofficial watchdog
Clubs: Sponsor of Girls Going Places
Former Schools/Education History: N/A
Lulu Bell is cold, calm, and unwaveringly strict. As far as anyone knows, she's been at Trinity forever and she has no known past outside of the school (although some may speculate that she's a secret agent, a trained assassin, a spy...). She is a fair teacher who doesn't tolerate nonsense of any kind in her classes. She expects her students to do as they're told. Compliance earns her favor; rebellion earns her contempt. The well-behaved girls will find that Lulu Bell, while not the most emotionally supportive of women, is steadfastly determined to see that they receive an outstanding education and fair treatment from other students and faculty alike.
When she isn't teaching, Lulu Bell can be found wandering. She seems to be everywhere at once, always watching and waiting to catch rule-breakers (she pays special attention to her male colleagues). Those who find themselves on her bad side would do well to fear her. Students who behave themselves will have an intensely protective and vigilant guardian in Lulu Bell.
To aid her in her quest to locate and reprimand troublesome students, Lulu Bell has found trusted students to serve as spies. These students are to report unruly behavior to her. They are rewarded with leniency and about as much fondness as Miss Bell is capable of giving her girls (which isn't much, but a little is better than nothing).

Name:
Penelope Lane Patton (Penny)School: The City University
Position: Intro to Arts Professor
Clubs: None; involved in an inter-school orchestra
Former Schools/Education History:
- Takadanobaba Elementary
- Bikini Bottom Jr. High
- Ohtori Academy
- The City University (undergrad, Fine Arts)
Penny--she politely requests that students and faculty alike address her informally--has been in the City's education system for her entire life. There are very few secrets about her life: Her parents were tragically killed when she was still attending Takadanobaba Elementary; she went through something of a rebellious phase when she was trying to "find herself" during Jr. and Senior High. Before graduating from Ohtori (a school she was able to attend only through the generosity of a benefactor who pitied her), Penny discovered volunteer work and, through that, herself.
After graduating from Ohtori, Penny took a few years off to devote herself entirely to community service. When it became necessary for her to seek employment, she managed to land a job teaching introductory art classes at her own TCU. Penny might not have her job long; she's a notoriously lenient teacher who cares more about encouraging students to express themselves than silly things like homework. Regardless, she's generally well-liked and upbeat, and her classes are always popular with students who want an easy A (although there are a rare few who actually attend for the chance to engage in graded self-expression). Penny's relationship with campus cop Chris Skelton isn't a secret, but they see each other so rarely that one wonders if they've really found time for a relationship.
Outside of the university, Penny spends much of her time volunteering at a number of charitable organizations. She's also a member of the inter-school orchestra. She's a talented violinist, having practiced since before her parents' deaths, but Penny prefers focusing on helping musically-gifted students develop their talents to showing off her own.
While a bit scatter-brained and overextended, Penny is personable and tries to stay in touch with all parts of the community, from school friends to her fellow teachers to students to other people she has met in her years in the City's school system.
