Neurotic author's notes: Hello, dears! I've never actually posted here before, though I've hung around quite a bit. :) Anyways, have some Sammy whump from my strange little AU. Two Sams, double the whump. :) The title is from "Children Will Listen," from Into the Woods, and the cut text is from Les Misérables, volume IV, book III, "The House on Rue Plumet." Il se disait qu’il n’avait vraiment pas assez souffert pour mériter un si radieux bonheur, et il remerciait Dieu, dans les profondeurs de son âme, d’avoir permis qu’il fût ainsi aimé, lui misérable, par cet être innocent.
He said to himself that he really had not suffered enough to deserve such radiant happiness, and he thanked God, in the depths of his soul, for having permitted that he, a miserable man, should be so loved by this innocent being.
