FILLED: Out in the Snow 2/2
(also probably needs editing but I got too excited because of awesome art)

“What the hell Sam?” Dean asked with a sigh as he pulled the blankets even tighter. He took off a mitten and laid it on his forehead. Ice cold, as he suspected. He moved his fingers to Sam’s neck and found his pulse slow. His hair was frozen solid. Was it from the snow or did he go in the lake? “Inside, and warm,” he repeated. Then he would damn well get answered. “Few more feet, Sammy.” He took his brother by the shoulders and again, they managed a standing position. The cabin door was open and snow had blown in but at least the fire was still lit. He sat Sam down in front of the fire and essentially ordered him to strip down out of his wet clothes before huddling back under the blankets. He stoked up the fire and then retrieved the quilts from the bedrooms and brought those to Sam as well. He then went about filling up all five of their cooking parts with water and put those that would fit on the fire and the rest on the hearth. They would all be heated in no time.

Sam was still shivering when Dean sat down beside him. His hands were out of the mass of blankets and he was squeezing the scar on his palm. His fingers too were blue tinged. He would have to do a thorough check to ensure the kid didn’t manage to get frostbite on top of the obvious hypothermia. Again, Dean pulled the blankets tighter. “So Sammy. You thought you would just enjoy New York’s fine winter up close and personal?”

Sam didn’t answer for a moment. He squeezed his scar and blinked into the fire. He was clenching his jaw to try to stop the chattering. Finally, he pulled back his hands into the warmth of the blankets. “He said you were out there in the water.

“Sammy I went for a beer run! I told you. We had a big discussion on it!” His anger wasn’t for Sam and he hated himself when Sam recoiled slightly.

“I didn’t know, Dean,” he said softly. “I had to be sure. If anything did happen…”

“Yeah, ok,” Dean relented to save them both uncomfortable feelings. What he wouldn’t do to be able to kill Satan all over again. At the moment, he would also settle for kicking Castiel’s feathery ass for breaking the wall in the first place. “What are we working with here, Sam. Did you go in the water?”

Sam tilted his head and creased his eyes as if trying to remember. “I fell in and heard him laugh. Knew he was lying then and tried to get back to the cabin. It was just so cold.”

“You think, Sammy?” Dean kept the edge he felt out of his tone and attempted to infuse some levity. “You know you could have lost your hair, right?” Sam’s head swung around and he glared at Dean who shrugged. “Could have. I got you back in the cabin in time.”

Sam rolled his eyes and went back to staring at the fire.

After a few moments, Dean asked, “He gone now?” Sam nodded in response. “Good. Let’s keep it that way. I got soup. I’ll make soup.”

“Coffee?” Sam asked hopefully.

“I’ll make some of that too.” And then he groaned and bit off a curse as he remembered the groceries were still outside in the cold snow. “You just get warm,” he said as he piled back into his heavy coat and mittens.
As he trudged back into the snow, he thought of all of the pains he would enjoy inflicting on Lucifer and Castiel for the pain they had inflicted onto his brother. It at least helped to warm his spirit.

End.

Sequels for ALL THE FICS!!!!!!!!
I think my favorite thing ever is whump up Sam and protective, concerned Dean. <3

There is not enough season 7 fics with the broken wall. (There was barely enough in the show!!!)
And certainly not enough ire at Cas for breaking it in the first place!
*throws mug like Thore* MORE!!

I didn't have anything for the prompt until I saw your wonderful art.. and fell in love with it. because yes, SNOW!!!! The scene needed words. And the mittens were ADORABLE!!!

And you made my week as well with your feedback!!! yaaay!!!!
We are turning nito quite the inadvertent team! (high-five)!

I probably should not admit how many times I have watched 7x17... (it's a lot... shhh.....)
I had nothing for that prompt until I saw the art and then PING (though you may not have heard the ping :D)
its funny how some things like prompts an art produce a ping and as you said, an entire story/scene/art! (though no art for me LOL. Even my stick figures are sad)

TEAM HURT!SAM!!!!!!!

I double bill 7x17 and whichever number is the one where Cas wakes up. I think i've watched the end of 821 a few times. And i have a feeling I'll be watching 9x1 a few times.

I'm inspired when I can get from where a story needs to be. If I can't make it move, it's nothing.
(if that makes sense!) like Dean getting Sam to the side of the cabin. that movement had to click... and does it make sense. There's one prompt I really realy like but I'm stuck on how it moves and make sense.

or getting out of whatever situation the prompt is... I ahe to have to have the movement in my head for inspiration.
