Suppose, when Dean prayed for help while Sam was detoxing in 5.14, he got Michael. And, in his despair, he said Yes.
Suppose Michael put Bobby and pretty-much-human-at-that-point Cas away somewhere safe, because he's willing to be generous to his vessel.
That generosity doesn't exactly extend to Lucifer's true vessel, of course. So Sam's in the panic room and no one knows he's there. For as long as it takes Michael to end the apocalypse.
As long as Lucifer's alive, he'll bring Sam back if he dies. If he dies of the detox. And wakes up in the panic room. Or dies of thirst and starvation. And wakes up in the panic room. Or finds a way to kill himself. And wakes up in the panic room.
Eventually Michael kills Nickifer and lets Dean go, intact, as he promised.
Luckily Dean finds Sam mid-cycle, before he has time to die with no Lucifer to revive him. Or maybe not so luckily, given what Sam might be like by then.
Season 5. Gen. Sam is beating himself up over what he did. All he needs is support even though he might not deserve it, but all hes getting from Dean is anger. Cue asshole Dean who ltr regrets mean words! Cnt get enough angstiness!
More season 5. Sam/dean or gen. Dean sees no other option then to say yes to Michael.Sam tries getting there intime but finds Dean already gone and michael in his place. But Michael doesnt let Sam go. He either tortures or just stabs sam with his angel sword... Sam tries begging to dean to stop but knows deans gone... Or is he? What happens after tht can b anything.
I'm feeling mildly sadistic soo.. this can bet set basically any time after Heart, but I just really want to see a fic where the everyone-who-sleeps-with-Sam-Winchester-dies curse is actually a real curse. Like, at some point pre-series the Winchesters annoyed the wrong MOTW and now having sex with Sam is essentially an eventual death sentence. Up to you if it's breakable, but I would really like Sam's reaction when he finds out about the curse. Please?
Actually my muse sort of liked this idea, do you mind if there is a bit of humor in it? Don't worry there will be angst, but I'm just thinking about Dean's reactions to Sam's problem...
I don't know how this one popped into my head, but it's got a trigger mentioned above, soooo...
When Sam was younger (pre-Stanford), he saw Dean cutting (maybe once to see if it would help, maybe often because he's stuck in his life and isn't going away to college and he's gotta do something to escape for a few minutes of release/freedom/control. Up to you). Post-Stanford, Sam is having trouble dealing with something (you pick the horrible. There's plenty of it over the years). He decides he'll try his big brother's method of coping. Maybe it doesn't go so well for him or maybe Dean finds him first and stops him or maybe Dean interrupts him and the blade slips. Injury and angst and various coping mechanisms are great, but killing Sammy off would make me a sad panda. Gen or slash (or het, if Sam's troubles come from losing Jess).
