Threw Stones At The Stars But The Whole Sky Fell MASTERPOST

Oct 10, 2011 15:20

Author: crazybeagle
Rating: PG-13
Genre: Gen, hurt/comfort/angst
Characters: Dean, Sam, Bobby, OCs
Spoilers: Through 6.22, very vague for 7.01
Summary: Extended coda/AU to The Man Who Knew Too Much. Cas leaves the boys behind, and Dean finds himself with one broken arm, one broken car, and one broken brother. But they've had worse, and Dean figures that as long as Sam is alive and safe and with him, they can deal with everything else. But it turns out he doesn't know the half of it. Title taken from "Stable Song" by Gregory Alan Isakov.
Warnings: Psychological trauma, insanity, allusions to torture, mildly graphic self-harm, broken bones, severe burns. (Not all for the same character.) Allusions to schizophrenia but I'm not claiming to diagnose or portray it. …Yup, that should cover it. Sammy definitely gets the short end of the stick in this story, but I'm pretty indiscriminate with the whump here, so Dean and Bobby aren't really safe either…

Part One * Part Two * Part Three * Part Four * Part Five * Part Six * Part Seven * Part Eight

nightmares, cuts/lacerations, hallucinations, self-harm, the great wall of sam, [the man who knew too much], fever, hell/post-hell issues
