Sam looked up at his brother, eyes heavily glazed with painkillers. "Cas rocks. No wait, you rock!"
Dean smothered a laugh. There was absolutely nothing funny about his brother with a fractured foot, but the look of stoned contentment on Sam's face was absolutely priceless.
When Sam had disappeared in the woods, Dean had been frantic. And when he found his brother three miles from the road and unable to walk, he'd almost cried. Cas, though, had come through for him, beaming both of them back to civilization so he could get Sam to the hospital.
X-rays found a small fracture in his foot, just below the big toe, and the doctor said Sam could begin walking on it in a few days with a special boot. Because Sam was pretty badly bruised all over, they'd also given him some pretty heavy painkillers before releasing him. Perhaps he'd had a bit too much medication.
Dean grinned back at his brother, ruffling his hair. "Okay, apparently all it takes to make you happy is a few milligrams of morphine and a chocolate milkshake. I'll remember that."
