Brides Against Breast Canc - OW!

Mar 07, 2009 09:26

In the middle of typing my Subject I had to get up and give a towel to a guest (I'm at work) and I hit my knee really hard on my chair. Then I tried to play it off like I didn't just do that. They didn't notice.

Anyway, James found this in the TBT newspaper today and showed me and I've been giddy ever since:

DRESSES THAT IMPRESS | Get a discount wedding gown and do some good at Brides against Breast Cancer. Mostly new gowns that typically retail for thousands will be sold for $99 to $799. Couture gowns will be 25 to 75 percent below retail prices - and purchases are tax deductible. The touring event began Thursday and runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Howard Johnson, Tampa. bridesagainstbreastcancer.org.

Exciting! We decided today that we're going to go on a whim. I don't know that I'll find anything and I know I'll be aprehensive about spending the money since I didn't plan to for awhile (once we got our credit cards paid off - I don't want debt anymore!)... But it does benefit the fight against breast cancer, and the some of the gowns they have do retail for up to $8,000. But who knows what will be left since today is their last day. I tried calling and the HOJO rep said that they were in a different room so he didn't know how many dresses were left, but they are open until 6 pm. So we will see! It's only 30 minutes from where I work, so it's definitely worth a shot.

Anyhow, I have been wanting to do so many things lately but I severely lack the time and money. Busch Gardens, first of all. And c'mon, I missed the BODIES Exhibit and MOSI last time. If we keep putting it off I will miss it again - and the Renaissance Fair!

We're making a lot of progress with the whole peeing on the potty thing. Gavyn even tells us, "Yucky, poo poo" when he has a dirty diaper now, which is a good sign because the next step is telling us when he has to make a yucky poo poo. He loves going potty, though, and whenever our friends come over one of the first things he shows off is his potty. Then, of course, he wants to show everyone how he can go potty because we always clap for him. He's very proud of himself :)

Oh, and on a side note to the Busch Gardens thing, I think it would be really great because you get the all year pass... And I think since Gavyn is only 2 he should get in for free, so we can go some days to enjoy the rides and some days with Gavyn to see the animals. FUN FOR EVERYONE!

Mm, have to work now. Bye.
