1440x900 You’re not over this person probably because they could never love you back the way you wanted them to, the way you needed them to. They were a defective toy that couldn’t be fixed at the shop. This made you so angry and so sad and you tried just so damn hard and everyone knew it but it didn’t work. Not one bit. Because of this, your business with them will always seem unfinished. You couldn’t conquer them and seal the deal, which made getting any kind of closure difficult. Your closure needs to be done on your own. You have to accept that this person will never give you the answers you want them to.
It sucks to have this one person in your life that can derail you at a moment’s notice. But in a way, it feels good knowing that you could ever love someone so much. Or that’s what you tell yourself anyway. It doesn’t matter if something is true or not. The things we tell ourselves can become our truth. (

Eduardo’s nostrils flare, and his hand is on the doorknob. “Of course, the fucking case. Well I’m no use to you anymore, right? You said it yourself, my cover’s blown, so you’ll have to find another idiot to do your bidding. I’m out.”
“No, it’s not about the case, okay,” Mark says, not even trying to hide the desperation. “Please, just, listen-”
“So if I asked you to give up the case, if I said I needed that, you would?” Mark gapes at him, and Eduardo snorts and turns the knob. “That’s what I thought.”
“I can’t do that, Wardo,” Mark tells him, honest, still desperate.
Eduardo doesn’t turn around when he asks, “Why not?”
And maybe it’s because Eduardo’s not looking at him. Maybe it’s because he’s really at the door, he means all of this, he actually means to leave and there’s-Mark deserves it. He deserves it and there’s nothing he can really do to make Eduardo stay.
But he can tell him why. He can tell him, while he’s not looking, while he doesn’t even know what he’s asking. He’s never told before. He never thought he could.
“Because Anna Everett wasn’t the first victim,” Mark says.
