Yesterday, Shakira shared on Facebook a video of her and her older son, polyglot baby Milan, practicing reading. It's not the first time Shakira shares an educational moment with her son: she had previously posted videos teaching Milan English and US history in their visit to Washignton DC and another video of them learning how to read common words like "dad" and "grandma". In this video, Milan learns words like "goal," "paddle," "house" and "go."
Shakira, who is very passionate about the topic of education (especially early childhood education), has previously stated that she's exposing Milan to as much knowledge as she can and teaching him how to read small words and phrases at an early age. Last year Shakira collaborated with Fisher Price, lauching a webseries where she talked about children development and a series of toys, the profits of which go to her foundation, the Barefoot Foundation.
Meanwhile, Shakira's boyfriend and should-be-stay-at-home-dad Gerard Pique got fined €10,500 for abusing police officers last October. The incident took place last year in Barcelona, where Pique and his brother were out at night in his brother's car. The car was incorrectly parked and when two policemen approached the player to impose a fine, Pique tried to excuse his brother by saying they were only parked there for five minutes and they were already leaving. The officers didn't buy it, and Pique got angry, confronting them and complaining about how shamefull that police force was, telling the men that he'd talk to their boss, that they were just doing it because he was famous and wanted comission, and that he wouldn't pay the fine.
Pique took to twitter the next day to give a weak apology after a video of the incident surfaced, but the issue was taken to court, where a judge decided on March 3rd that Pique needs to pay €10,500. The initial amount was supposed to be lower, but the judge took into account Pique's job, considering that any lower amount would be meaningless based on his income.
