ONTD Original™: 2014 Arrest Edition

Nov 10, 2014 18:24

2014 was an insane year in the celeb world. As the year winds down, its easy to forget about those messy arrests and court cases from earlier in the year. Lets take a look back at some of the more interesting arrests of 2014. It's a long list but its good to be reminded how messy celebs can be.

Politician: Ricky Perry

Crime: Sure, he's not a celeb but him getting arrested was pure gold and I felt it should be included. Texas Governor Rick Perry was indicted for felony abuse of power and trying to coerce a political enemy, a D.A. who was convicted of drunk driving, out of office by threatening to veto a law enforcement bill if she didn't resign.

Perry, of course, denied the charges.

Actor: Sam Worthington

Crime: In February, the actor who continues to get roles for no logical reason was arrested for allegedly punching a pap after the pap allegedly kicked his girlfriend Lara Bingle in a Greenwich Village Bar. The photographer kicked Lara and then Worthington punched him causing the photographer to have lacerations to his nose. He has been charged with assault.

The photographer was also arrested on the grounds of assault, reckless endangerment and harassment.

Actor: Shia LaBeouf

Crime: This is a very odd case but not that odd when you realize Shia is involved. Shia LaBeouf was hauled out of a production of Cabaret during intermission by police in handcuffs. He was reportedly being disruptive during the first act. He was allegedly smoking and being disruptive during the show. LaBeouf was charged by police with criminal trespass and two counts of disorderly conduct, and apparently threatened police and other guests as the show. And he allegedly told police officers at the Midtown precinct, "Fuck you. I'll fuck you up."

Actor: Alec Baldwin

Crime: Being the worst and disorderly conduct. He was arrested in NYC after he was stopped for riding his bicycle against traffic. He became unruly with the officers who asked for identification. He became belligerent, yelling and screaming at the officers, 'I don't have ID. Just give me the fucking summonses'...allegedly. He allegedly continued the argument right up until the arrived at the stationhouse.

Actor: Nicholas Brendon (Xander from Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

Crime: He was arrested in Boise, Idaho for malicious injury to property and resisting arrest. The comments in this post are pretty helpful in regards to what might have been the trigger http://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/91778934.html?page=3#comments

Musician: Justin Bieber

Crime/Crimes: You might remember this time on ONTD as DRINKING UNDER THE INFLUENCE 2014™. Way back in January, the Bieber was arrested for allegedly DUI and Drag Racing in Miami. In addition, he allegedly ratted on one of his drug suppliers to police -- telling cops, HIS MOM is the one who gave him the prescription medication he took shortly before his DUI arrest.

Law enforcement reported to TMZ that cops grilled Bieber on what substances he had ingested before his arrest and the Biebs admitted he was under the influence of Rx meds, alcohol, and weed.

When asked what kind of Rx meds, we're told Bieber said anti-anxiety (such as Xanax) but he wasn't sure exactly what kind ... because he just takes whatever his mom gives him.

Former Musician: Farrah Franklin

Crime: The Ex Destiny's Child singer was arrested in South Carolina for disorderly conduct. Allegedly....lots of alcohol was involved. You might remember her from her quick stint as a back up singer for Beyonce back in 2000.

Musician: Omarion

Crime: Omarion was sent to jail for not showing up to court on a traffic ticket.

The ex B2K lead singer was stopped for allegedly running a stop sign. The officer ran his license and found there was a warrant out for his arrest...for failing to appear in court on an earlier traffic ticket.

The singer was cuffed and taken to jail.

Musician: Wiz Khalifa

Crime: Wiz Khalifa was arrested at an airport in Texas after a "green leafy substance" was found during a TSA check.

The rapper was flying from El Paso to Dallas when TSA officials discovered he allegedly had weed on him. Cops said he had 5 grams of weed at the time and was arrested.

Musician: Tyler, The Creator

Crime: Tyler, The Creator, was arrested for allegedly inciting a riot during a show at the South By Southwest music festival.

Travis County Sheriff's spokesman Roger Wade said the Odd Future rapper, whose name is Tyler Gregory Okonma, was arrested at Austin-Bergstrom Airport.

Police said he incited a large crowd of fans at the annual music conference and festival to push their way past venue employees controlling access to a Thursday show that was already at full capacity.

Officers indicated in a warrant that Tyler yelled for fans to push their way inside twice, and that a bartender had to protect a woman from injury in the resulting push.

Musician: Chris Brown

Crime: Chris Brown violated a judge's order by getting kicked from the rehab facility where he lived for nearly 4 months.

Basically, if Chris left rehab, he went to jail. Once he was thrown out of rehab, L.A. County Sheriff's deputies hauled him into jail. The exact cause of him getting kicked from rehab was not disclosed.

Musician: The Dream

Crime: The-Dream turned himself into police for an alleged attack on his ex-girlfriend.

He was allegedly booked for two felonies-assault and strangulation.

He had been wanted for questioning in connection with an alleged assault on his baby mama, Lydia Nam, from April 2013.

Nam claims he allegedly punched, kicked, and strangled her while she was pregnant with their son. She didn’t report the incident to police until seven months later.

The-Dream has been booked for two felonies as well as three misdemeanors including assault, reckless endangerment, and child endangerment.

Troll: Joe Francis

Crime: Being a terrible human being. And he was arrested on assault charges. He was arrested at the 10900 block of Wilshire Boulevard after he was allegedly involved in "pushing and shoving," according to Los Angeles police Sgt. John Juarez. He was eventually released on bail at $20,000.00.

Troll 2: Hunter Moore

Crime: He built his entire career off of being a terrible person and leaking stolen naked images of women across the country. He was finally arrested with his alleged hacker partner Charlie Evans by the FBI.

Hunter Moore, 27, of Woodland, who operated isanyoneup.com, and Charles Evens, 25, of Studio City, were arrested without incident by special agents with the FBI back in January.

Moore and Evens are charged in a 15-count indictment unsealed after they were arrested this morning. The indictment charges both men with conspiracy, seven counts of unauthorized access to a protected computer to obtain information and seven counts of aggravated identity theft. You can read the indictment online if you search for it.

Athlete: Aaron Hernandez

Crime: Murder. Aaron Hernandez was indicted for double homicide for his involvement in a 2012 drive-by shooting. The Former New England Patriot was indicted on murder charges for the deaths of Daniel Jorge Correia de Abreu and Safiro Teixeira Furtado. The 2012 Boston incident was a drive-by shooting, with Hernandez now believed to be the shooter. Abreu and Furtado were pronounced dead on the scene.

At the time, the police had known Hernandez had been at a nightclub where a fight occurred prior to the Boston homicides. He was investigated in connection with this incident after he was indicted for the unrelated 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd. The case was very involved so feel free to Google it for more information as my hands are already cramping at this point.

Athlete: Michael Phelps

Crime: Arrested on DUI charge. The Olympic champion was arrested and charged with DUI in Baltimore. He was also charged with excessive speeding and crossing double lane lines.

Authorities say Phelps appeared to be under the influence and failed series of field sobriety tests but was cooperative.
Phelps was charged and released.

The swimmer has been charged with DUI previously. In November 2004, he was stopped by state troopers in Salisbury, Maryland, after failing to stop for a stop sign. Phelps was 19 at the time.

Name: Tyra Sanchez

Crime: Thinking she is Beyonce and misdemeanor assault. Tyra was arrested in Virginia for assault. The complaint, which was filed by one Daniel Alonso, has been categorized under Virginia’s assault and battery penalty code 18.2-57. I wasnt able to find any follow up information on this case.

This arrest is not Tyra’s first since winning the second cycle of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2010. In August 2011, she had a publicly known run-in with the law, in which she was arrested in Georgia for possession of marijuana. In this incident, she posted bail and was released the next day.

Name: The Situation (Ex Jersey Shore)

Crime: The Situation was arrested after a fight with his brother in the tanning salon they co-own.

The Situation was arrested at a Boca Tanning Salon in Middletown, NJ after the cops got a 911 call reporting a fist fight in the salon.

Judge: Joe Brown

Crime: Welp, the 66-year-old television show personality showed up to represent a client in a child support case at a Memphis juvenile court, but he was told when he arrived that there was no record of the case.

Judge Brown got extremely angry and became verbally abusive and nearly incited a riot....allegedly. He was arrested and cited for contempt five times, ultimately being ordered to spend five days in jail. He ended up leaving the court under his own power, but was screaming and very upset.

Take a shot every time you see the word "allegedly". Also, share those jail stories.
