SBTRKT has announced a new album “Wonder Where We Land,” scheduled for release in September.
The new record follows a flurry of activity for the British producer and electronic wizard. Earlier this year he released a whole series of EPs called the “Transitions” EP series. He announced the new album will see collaborations with Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend, A$AP Ferg, Caroline Polachek of Chairlift, Warpaint’s Emily Kokal, Jessie Ware and more.
You can now hear Koenig’s contribution on “New Dorp New York,” which is kind of like SBTRKT’s answer to Jay Z’s “Empire State of Mind.” It’s a celebration of New York City in all its gritty glory, and Koenig’s bop-and-weave vocal line makes it catchier than most of what we’re used to hearing from SBTRKT. “Wonder Where We Land” is out September 23 on Young Turks.
