Soccer Aid will only lead to one winner at Old Trafford
Old Trafford has seen many legends, but now isn’t the time for the professionals.
Stars from music, TV and film will unite to play a football match like no other at the famous stadium in aid of UNICEF children’s charity.
As Assistant Manager for England Robbie Williams will hope to sing because he’s winning, with help from team-mates including TV presenter Paddy McGuinness, McFly’s Danny Jones and comedian John Bishop.
Michael Sheen skippers the Rest of the World, managed by Chelsea’s José Mourinho.
Michael could use his acting skill to channel his inner Sir Alex Ferguson to motivate his lads, including chef Gordon Ramsay and Westlife’s Nicky Byrne.
“I admit there are scores to settle,” says Robbie Williams, who created the charity event.
“Leading the England team, I will be making sure we defend that trophy against the Rest of the World.”
His combative stance is matched by rival player Gordon Ramsay.
“After being stretchered off in 2012, I’m determined to come back fighting!”
And, of course, the match will lead to one other winner - UNICEF, which helps struggling children in developing countries.
Since its launch in 2006, Soccer Aid has helped to raise more than £12million for the charity.
