Jack O'Connell cast in Tulip Fever
According to the Daily Mail, Jack O'Connell is joining the cast of Justin Chadwick’s adaptation of the 17th century romance “Tulip Fever” which includes Dane Dehaan,Alicia Vikander,Holliday Grainger and Christoph Waltz. Harvey Weinstein is producing the film .
Alicia Vikander has the female lead role of Sophia, the young wife of an aristocrat in the long-gestating adaptation of Deborah Moggach’s novel. When her wealthy husband hires an artist to paint their portrait, Sophia falls for the artist instead. The story is set against the backdrop of tulipmania in Amsterdamn as the two forbidden lovers scheme to invest in the tulip trade to make enough money to run away together. DeHaan is set for the role of the artist, while the other three actors have unspecified roles, though perhaps Waltz as her older husband makes sense.
