I will never understand how some people can abandon animals, especially ones they've kept as pets.

I don't understand why they don't try to find another home for their pet or at least put them in a shelter.

Some people drive out of town just to abandon their pets in the middle of nowhere. It's especially bad here in the desert when people do it their dogs in the middle of summer, although most of the time it happens a little after Christmas when puppies have grown up.

ommmmmmmg people are fucking heartless. I remember my BFF growing up's mom did that to their cat bc she was sick of it peeing on things or something. Really? They had that cat for YEARS. Imagine belonging to a family, feeling at home, feeling loved by them and then one day they take you for a drive and just... leave you... all alone... to die basically. This makes me want to cry tbh. I'd never forgive my parents if they did that to me.

I used to live in the country, and it was a somewhat-common thing to find a box of kittens on the side of the road. My grandpa would always take them and give them away for free at his convenience store, and it was never difficult to find homes for them.

I literally cry sometimes when my mom just suggests that I give up my cat (never gonna happen) so I can find an apartment without worrying about it being pet friendly. Just the thought makes me upset I don't know how people could actually just send their pets out of the house into the wild.

If anyone ever suggested I give up my dog just to find an apartment, I would probably slap them. It wouldn't matter if it was my mother or not. My dog is my baby.
