Oprah to interview David Arquette instead of Vick

Oprah Winfrey will air an exclusive interview with David Arquette next week after football star Michael Vick pulled out of an appearance that had been in the works for months.

Winfrey told The Hollywood Reporter Thursday that Vick scrapped the February 24 appearance for "personal reasons."

"We're not going to push it," Winfrey added, noting that her staff "had been working behind the scenes for months" on the interview.

"We did a field trip with him. We had been shooting with Michael Vick," Winfrey said. "We move on."

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, who missed two seasons of football while he served 18 months in prison on dogfighting charges, said in a statement: "After careful consideration, I will need to postpone the taping of the Oprah Winfrey interview scheduled for February 22 (sic). I admire and respect Oprah and hope to be able to participate in an interview in the future."

The interview with Arquette, his first since leaving rehab, was taped Thursday in Chicago.
