Nikki Blonsky,
famous for her role in 2007’s Hairspray, says she’s okay being typecast as the overweight female character.

“I honestly think Hollywood is getting real. They’re saying ‘hey this is what a lot of America looks like,’ a lot of America doesn’t wear a size 2,’” Blonsky told ShowbizSpy.com.

Along with her work in Hairspray, the 22-year-old actress is also famous for her role on the ABC show Huge, which centered around a group of overweight teens at weight loss camp.

‘I’ve recently had an experience, where I’ve been given a complete ray of light, and I have a film coming out called Waiting for Forever,’ she said told ShowbizSpy.

‘When I auditioned for it, it was a role written for a young married mom, and I auditioned for it and they gave it to me. It wasn’t a role written for a plus-sized girl. I was like wow! I got a role that wasn’t for a plus-sized girl,’ she stated.

Blonsky also recently took to her Twitter to say wants a spot on the popular Fox show Glee:

“I would love to be on @GLEEonFOX.”

Waiting for Forever was released yesterday.
