When Britney was on TRL many years ago, I wanted to give her a letter, but didn't reserve a seat inside. So I handed the letter off to some woman on the crew. I never expected to hear anything back.
A week later, I get an envelope in the mail from Zomba (I forgot what they were at the time). Anyway, I got a personally autographed photo signed by Britney. The ink was red and wet and I checked to see if it was really Britney's signature.

I can't remember, but I remember that it was little over a page long, typed and I think double spaced. I think I mentioned how much I love her music and how I write songs. I might have said something about don't listen to the critics and be yourself. It was a while ago and I can't remember much.

I don't really have amazing stories like this, but one time my brother and I waited in line for hours before a GaGa show (this was when she was performing at 1100 cap venues. The people said that everyone who had waited hours got to meet her after the show. I nearly died! Then again, she talked to us from the crowd because we had a sign that said 'CLIMB ON US!' that we had made from a kids meal from Burger King while waiting 12 hours in line.
Another time, Hayley from Paramore went on a 4 hour chat with us (and a couple friends) at 2am in the morning. She shared lyrics and stuff that was going to be on the new album and wanted it to be a secret just between us. One lurker ended up leaking it all like two months later, but she remembers us.

I never met him, but as a kind of joke, and spurred on by a certain community, I sent a letter to Misha Collins when he was advertising council spots for his charity 'staff'.
So the letter finished with me sending him 60c in Canadian Tire money and a note reading for him to use it to help fund his empire.
A while later, I got a response, and it was a form letter (a fucking hilarious one, it was great) and a note scribbled on the bottom: "Thanks for the Canadian Tire Money!" So I like to think that because of me, Misha saved sixty cents at Canadian Tire.
Oh, and also, Anne Rice sent me an awesome, rambling, crazy e-mail.

I went to a recording of the Jay Leno show (don't judge me!) and let my friend take the last audience seat. I surprised her with tickets for a day when Zac Efron was on promoting "17 Again", as she was moving away the next week and he's her favorite actor. We were the only 2 with standby tickets admitted. Once we got into the studio, show handlers told us we'd need to split up and one of us would have to watch the show from the green room and the other could take the last audience seat. I told her to have fun and enjoyed watching homeboy's interview on an HD screen in the green room! ;)

I sorta have a similar story. Dave Chappelle comes to San Francisco every year to sell out a few secret shows (no joke). They limit you to two tickets, so I bought a couple for me and a friend. And getting them was THEE biggest hassle in the world. Since so many people were trying to buy them, I kept having to refresh the slow ass website and even call in a couple of times to see if I could get some that way.
My mom was having the worst week ever. She hated her job and we were going through some family drama and she was stuck at the short end of the stick w/ it, so I ended up giving her and my stepdad the tickets instead.

it didn't happen to me, but I was front row at a Green Day concert one time.. and the guy next to me was a HUGE fan, he was talking about how he drove like 8 hours to go to this concert and had a fresh tattoo inspired by the band, etc.
during the show Billie Joe asked if anyone knew how to play any of their songs.. the guy is jumping all over the place, and at first Billie skips over him but then motions for the guy, pulls him up on stage, let him play a guitar solo and then let him KEEP the guitar.

I know this isn't a very big screen celeb, more of a stage guy, but my family saw the musical 1776 with Roger Rees as John Adams. This was about two weeks after 9/11 and there was some hesitation whether it would continue as scheduled. Well it did and after, the cast did a couple extra songs in the courtyard, "God Bless America", stuff like that with boxes for the Red Cross.
After the concert the actors mingled with their boxes and we got to approach Mr Rees and he was very very sweet. My sister put our money in the box and he kissed her on the cheek. Classy guy- and a terrific actor, especially live.

Me and a group of my friends drove 5+ hours from Montreal to Toronto to go see a band called Athlete. They're one of my favourite groups now, but at that time only 1 out of us 5 actually even knew who they were and had listened to more than 1 of their songs. We all just went along for the fun of it.
About halfway through the show, we decided to scream out "Montreal loves you!" at the next silent point between songs. Not only did that get us a "You came from Montreal? You're mad!" (They're a small as hell band, I think they were surprised someone would drive for them!) but it also got us talking with a guy that was next to us. This guy actually knew the guys in the band and got us backstage after the show.
