2009 Academy Award Nominations Announced

Nominations for the 82nd Academy Awards were announced this morning by Academy President Tom Sherak and actress Anne Hathaway. They revealed the ten nominees for Best Picture, as well as contenders for Director, Animated Feature, Foreign Language Film, and the writing and acting categories.

Is that JGL in your icon? If 500 Days had gotten nominated, most of my favorite movies from last year woud've been up for Oscars. I kinda can't believe that my two favorites from last year (Up in the Air and District 9) got nominated for Best Picture.

Same! Although District 9 wasn't one of my favorites, I did enjoy it && appreciate how amazing it is aka it shits all over Avatar + didn't cost the amount to start up a new miniature country.

Had Bright Star been deservedly nominated for Best Picture (&& Abbie for Best Actress) I would've been ecstatic.
