GDT is one of my favourite people and one of the nicest I've ever met. He's so awesome it's stupid.
Peter Jackson I absolutely adore as well, but I want to add that he has lost all that weight but continues to buy clothes that would have fit the old him.
I got to go to LA for a private Hellboy II pre-party/screening/after-party and he INVITED A GUY OFF THE STREET WHO HAPPENED TO WALK BY AND ASK ABOUT THE PARTY. It was this young guy and he was looking at the poster set-up and GDT goes over and he's like "Hey, want to see a movie? Hellboy II" and invited the guy to come along to this super-exclusive shindig. It was awesome (except the guy had been on his way back from grocery shopping and had to give the groceries to security when we got to the theatre. The groceries were never seen again.)
I met him at this PR Agency called Anonymous (they are a vendor ours) and he was there when we were going for a Preso meeting. Only 3 of us and he was giving us the stink eye so we avoided him then my boss walked over to the Coffee bar to get a cup o' joe and Alejandro gave him "Do you mind" because he was leaning on the bar talking on the cell phone. He didn't want anyone in his "Personal Space".
My boss still served himself while Alejandro stormed over to receptionist and demanded to know what the delay was. It was a very uncomfortable situation.

I sorta (very loosely) worked with him on Children of Men.
I met him on the Universal lot back in May of 2006 I believe.
He's very attentive to people he's working with and values input.
