Harrison Ford Raves about Shia LaBeouf

Harrison Ford may be the movie veteran, but he knows his costar Shia LaBeouf is hot on his heels.

"He has an enormous talent," Ford said of the younger actor at a press event for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in Cannes on Saturday. "He had some very archaic skills to acquire and he worked really hard. He will be around for a long, long time."

LaBeouf, who stars as Ford's sidekick in the fourth installment of the Indiana Jones saga, said he was understandably nervous during the first few weeks of filming. "It's terrifying and exciting," he said. "Even if you're welcome the scope is daunting and you have to get past that Harrison is Harrison - that's very scary."

But it only took a few weeks for them to become firm pals. "We started by jumping right into stunts and you find this mutual respect with Harrison who doesn't warm easy," admits LaBeouf. "And when we became friends everything became easier."

So did Ford, 65, give LaBeouf any tips on being an Indiana heart throb? "Harrison laughs it all off," LaBeouf, 21, says. "His star rose in a very different time. He was a different age, he wasn't 21."

According to Ford, it was the Indy newbie who was handing out the tips. After joking, saying "I taught him how to act," he gushed: "I didn't teach him anything, he taught me. He was an enormous pleasure to be around. I really enjoyed him a lot."
