Britney Spears Back Home with Dad
Britney Spears is back at her Los Angeles home with dad Jamie Spears after being released from Cedars-Sinai hospital, PEOPLE has confirmed.
Spears's mom Lynne, who yesterday called for prayers for the embattled singer, remains in their hometown of Kentwood, La.
Spears left the Los Angeles medical facility Saturday via an underground tunnel and was accompanied by TV therapist Dr. Phil, according to etonline.com, who first reported the news.
A Cedars-Sinai spokesperson declined to comment, but Dr. Phil released a statement to ET saying: "My meeting with Britney and some family members this morning in her room at Cedars leaves me convinced more than ever that she is in dire need of both medical and psychological intervention.
"She was released moments before my arrival and was packing when I entered the room. We visited for about an hour before I walked with her to her car."
Spears had been committed early Friday morning under California's "5150 Hold," in which Spears was deemed a danger to herself and could be held for 72 hours. Patients however can be released early if doctors determine they are no longer a threat to themselves.
Can I Get a Britney Prayer Circle Started, Y'all?
EDIT #1: Sam Lutfi: Britney's doing a lot better
Britney Spears has been released from the hospital. But even before this development, Brit's prospects were improving, according to her manager pal Sam Lutfi.
In an exclusive interview with E! News' Jason Kennedy, Lutfi gave fresh details and insight into Britney's condition and progress while the troubled pop star was undergoing psychiatric observation at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Jason Kennedy: How is Britney doing?
Sam Lutfi: She is doing a lot better than Thursday night, she's reached out to her mom and Jamie Lynn and they've been in constant contact...they have shown wonderful support to her.
How do you respond to the reports that Britney has a mental illness?
I'm not commenting on those reports.
When Kevin came to the hospital to pick up the children, did he see or speak to Brit?
No!
Lutfi wouldn't comment directly to Kennedy about the specifics of what happened at Britney's home Thursday night. But when asked why police were at her home for so long, Lutfi said he just wanted to make sure police were following proper procedures and abiding by the court documents, adding that he wished "that the whole situation had been handled better."
And speaking of better, that's what we all wish for Ms. Spears. Get well soon, Brit.

EDIT # 2: Larry Rudolph: Still Hope for Brit
Former Spears manager Larry Rudolph, in an interview promoting his E! reality show "Sunset Tan," told FOX News that the pop diva he helped discover will once again be on top of the music scene.
"She's probably the most dynamic and exciting performer that's hit the music scene since Madonna in the mid-'80s, Rudolph said.
Like Madonna, Spears has had her share of controversy, especially in 2007 when she shaved her head, became part of the so-called "bimbo summit" including herself, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan and lost primary custody of her children, at least temporarily, to ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Thursday night, she was admitted to Cedars-Sinai for what one source close to Spears is calling a "complete psychotic meltdown."
Rudolph most recently worked with Spears last summer on her latest CD, "Blackout," which kicked off to an inauspicious start with Spears' wobbly performance at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, but then quickly rose to the top of the Billboard charts, surprising industry insiders.
"I was working with her when she was recording and eager to hear rest of it and was really happy it's doing well," he said.
"The reality is she's here for a long time," says Rudolph, who also worked with Spears' one-time boyfriend Justin Timberlake. "Right now you're seeing what you're seeing, but I know this girl has an enormous talent and she's smart and she'll get it right and get right back on track and she'll do amazingly well," he said.
Right now it's hard to see the forest through the trees, however.
Spears faces up to a year of probation if convicted in a misdemeanor case of driving without a valid license, has been ordered by the court to have her children's visits supervised and has to adhere to court-appointed drug testing.
But Rudolph thinks all of this will pass.
"I think that Britney Spears is going to be a force to be reckoned with again and she's going to be out there in a big, big way, playing arenas and stadiums in the near future."
America does love a good comeback, and although 2008 has started on a down note for Spears, here's hoping Rudolph is right, not only for her career, but also for her children.

Edit # 3:
Britney Meets Up With Adnan Paparazzo turned Brit boy-toy, Adnan Ghalib, has intercepted Britney Spears this afternoon as she was driving around L.A., PageSix.com has exclusively learned.
Sources close to Sam Lutfi are telling PageSix.com that Sam is genuinely concerned because Britney is at her most vulnerable right now. Sam is scouring L.A. for Britney and fears that Ghalib's Svengali-like influence will further threaten Britney's stability.
Britney pulled the married shutterbug from the 30-car caravan of paparazzi that regularly follow her two weeks ago, and the pair spent a long night holed up in her L.A. hotel suite. They also reportedly spent hours together in another hotel earlier this week.
Edit # 4:
Lynne Spears Has a Lot to Mourn While her daughter Britney checked out of the hospital and drove aimlessly around the streets of L.A., Lynne Spears was in tears 1900 miles away, crying as she laid flowers at her sister's grave at the Tangipahoa cemetery in Louisiana.
It's almost a year since Lynne's sister Sandra Bridges Covington died of ovarian cancer at the age of 59. While losing a sibling is a heart-wrenching experience, the prospect of losing a daughter is just as frightening, which leads some to wonder just why Britney's mom has been holed up in Kentwood, La., while her oldest daughter has had a breakdown, been locked in a Los Angeles psych ward and lost custody of her children over the course of the past 36 hours.
The 26-year-old pop star has been estranged from Lynne, who has had her hands full over the past few weeks dealing with the unexpected pregnancy of her youngest child, Jamie Lynn, 16.
