This week has been full of Oscar watch progress.
Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl: We had never seen any Wallace and Gromit films or TV before, and a friend suggested watching The Wrong Trousers first, so we did that, and then went right into this one. So good!! I was pleasantly surprised by how much i enjoyed the humor and the visual slapstick, which is usually not my thing, as well as the storyline. It is amazing what a sense of character you get from Feathers McGraw even though he can't move his face or talk. And I love Gromit!!
The Apprentice: Stan and Strong were great, the cinematography worked well, I was whelmed by the rest. Hard for me to be objective about this subject.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes: Meh. I didn't see the trilogy, but from what I've read, that's a step up from this one. I don't think talking apes are my thing! It did look great, though.
We have eight feature films + the shorts left, and we will knock some of those out this weekend. Gonna see either The Seed of the Sacred Fig or The Girl with the Needle tomorrow night (have not decided yet!), Memoir of a Snail on Saturday afternoon, and Better Man on Sunday morning. My husband is on a work trip for the early part of next week, so I will probably spend some of that time watching more Independent Spirit Award nominees.

I really liked The Seed of the Sacred Fig but it's long and intense.
