A former Real World star is a Secretary of Transportation...

I hate it here.

Based on my expertise of having watched a lot of YouTube videos about aviation accidents, it seems like pilot error on the helicopter pilot's part is the cause. But we won't know until the investigation is complete. Assuming the FAA still exists and is funded, that is. Because maybe Trump is just gonna nuke the whole department.

Hes the one that was on TV crying about how his salary was hardly enough to cover his bills. He made 174k a year. Cry me a river, dude.

He should have had less kids then. 9 kids is...excessive.

174k certainly wouldn't go far with that many children. Goodness.

With RACHEL. Why does she exist, Universe, when we could have had Pedro! I know it doesn't matter, but I'd love to hear what Genesis and his fellow Boston roommates think of him.

There are reports of over 15 figure skaters, coaches, and possibly family members that were onboard this flight from Wichita - which is where the US Championships were held.

TASS has confirmed Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov, Maxim Naumov's parents/World Champions/coaches were on the flight.

I'm not familiar with the figure skating world to make a post about this. And there hasn't been a report from US or IOC of the names those onboard, due the recovery and subsequent identification is still in progress.

The BBC has reported some names, a couple of the skaters were only 16 years old and had their mothers travelling with them. 😪

Yeah, the figure skating associations haven't released names, so it's not official. But based on what I've seen on Twitter, you're right about Maxim's parents. And it was a lot of young skaters because they'd stayed in Wichita longer after nationals because there was a training camp for young skaters with high potential after nationals, aparently?

Awful to lose people so suddenly like that. Especially if there were a lot of kids on board. Too young to have their lives ended like that.

Yeah, I guess the camp ended yesterday and this was one of the few flights from Wichita to the east coast.

Geezus. : ( I'm really hoping more crashes don't happen with the FAA and the Safety Committee getting gutted.

I stayed up way too late last night after seeing kids online asking if their skating friends were okay and knowing, like, there's no chance they survived. Just kids who seemed so excited about being able to skate. Just so young...

The chopper pilot said they had eyes on the plane, but there's speculation that they didn't have eyes on the right one or maybe weren't familiar with the landing pattern. The NTSB report will take time, though.
