Although Mufasa won the five-day period that included last weekend, Sonic 3 still won the actual weekend itself. This weekend, Mufasa stood alone atop the box office, bringing in $24 million.
Sonic 3 was in second place with $21.2 million. It has outgrossed the first film in the Sonic series, and is on a pace to beat out Sonic 2 as well.
Nosferatu is still killing it at the box office, bringing in $13.2 million, for $100 million haul globally.
Moana 2 pulled up in fourth place with $12.3 million, while Wicked followed behind with $10.2 million even after being released digitally.
A Complete Unknown landed in sixth place, with $8.1 million for a total take of $41.7 million domestically - it has yet to release overseas.
