I've seen Sicko before but rewatched it over the weekend when I saw he had uploaded it for free. I'm in Sweden and our health care isn't perfect (and the current government isn't making it better as they want to privatize more) but it won't fucking bankrupt you at least. I currently pay nothing for health care until June as I have a 'free card' after hitting a specific amount. And when I do pay it's a pretty reasonable amount, and it's the same amount whether I go to therapy or have a doctor look at my fractured elbow. I really hope this whole thing continues to anger people in the US and sparks a health care revolution.

As an American who lives in Sweden, I cannot believe I thought privatized healthcare was a good idea, EVER.

Love your userpic, are you going to the Stockholm show in June? I saw her twice in the US and have waited for her to play here since I moved here so I'm excited for June!

Most Americans who never traveled outside the United States have a brainwashed patriotism to everything.

It was a rude fucking awakening and I went to a fancy private liberal arts university thinking I was so educated. Living here shattered just about every illusion I'd ever had about the US. It is fucking gross how much propaganda we're fed about our role in the world.

I wish but I can't afford it, plus my social anxiety won't permit it lol.
