Lol I’m reminded of when saoirse gave an interview for some magazine and she went down the line complimenting the skill/talent of her co-stars and when she got to Emma Watson she said that she worked really hard. Idk if I’m misremembering tho, if anyone knows what I’m talking about please link lol

I finally watched her version of Little Women and while I liked it immensely, good gravy at Emma's performance. One of the more emotional passages in the book is the scene where her husband gently asks her why she spent all of that money on a dress to impress some harpies and she breaks down and tells him how tired she is of being poor. She was so awful in that scene it completely took me out.

I was watching the Bling Ring the other day and her performance is legit the worst out of the entire cast. It was like a caricature of who Alexis Niers was during that time.

lmao putting emma next to sersh and florence pugh and being like 'ok now act' was the meanest thing anyone has ever done to her.

Timothy as well; he was absolutely delightful. The actress who played Beth didn't have loads to do, but she made the absolute most of her moments, and Laura Dern is always great. IMO, the difference in skill level between Emma and the rest of the cast was jarring, and to be honest I felt really, really badly for her.

iirc she was a last min replacement for emma stone as well? which... would have made more sense, i guess, but i also just can't picture emma stone as meg.

yeah emma stone was originally cast and allegedly dropped it for the favourite promo (but probably because it was too small a role for her to bother with, which is a shame because she would've been good). stone dropped it and sony's amy pascal dumped watson on greta's lap, and greta just kinda sucked it up because that's where the money was coming from. greta did not cast watson

Emma Watson made me hate Meg and Florence Pugh made me love Amy in that movie lol

I’m the youngest of daughters and a Kirsten dunst and flo fan so I am an Amy stan forever lol. The actress who played Meg in 1994 (the superior version) was an amazing Meg.

The 1994 Meg was absolutely perfect!

It's not a coincidence that LW is Emma's last movie on IMDB and pivoted to having a celebrity gin.

Ballet Shoe is tough to watch cause Lucy Boynton has the star power and talent that outshines her.

Speaking of: can we discuss Alexis Bledel? I know she has an Emmy now so her acting must've improved, but rewatching Gilmore Girls and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is oof. So stiff, weird reading of lines, and never acts like the disposable coffee cups have anything in them

I agree about Alexis, but she DID get better. She was so good in The Handmaid's Tale, I was really surprised lol
