https://instagram.com/p/DCg-3y0xR0N A Complete Unknown, a film about four years in the life of Bob Dylan, is coming out next month, and star Timothée Chalamet has begun promo. He's on the cover of Rolling Stone, with photographs by Aidan Zamiri.
Some tidbits:
- Chalamet worked with a vocal coach, a guitar teacher, a dialect coach, a movement coach, and a harmonica teacher
- He understands why some folks aren't here for this one: "People are deeply protective of Bob Dylan and his music legacy, because it’s so pure in a sense, and they don’t want to see a biopic mishandle that.”
- Related to the fact that Bob Dylan's work isn't the result of a specific trauma in his life, just lived experience.
- Bob Dylan has an executive producer credit on the film, met with James Mangold in LA several times, and went through the script line by line.
- Elle Fanning says Dylan did not want them to use the real name of his first New York girlfriend, which is why it's different in the film, but her storyline is pretty accurate to real life.
- Chalamet hasn't met Dylan, but Monica Barbaro did meet Joan Baez, who she plays in the film.
