WOW, the creations were all so interesting. I had not heard of them (as usual) but the beauty these four came up with is inspiring. Elora's use of color makes my brain sing happy songs
One of the many reasons I like the Canadian show more than GBBO is the Canadian version has shown that you can have new/different challenges and weekly themes that aren’t just the classic bakes that everyone knows. I love that they create challenges that reflect the diversity of the population, expose the audience to new food/ingredients/cultural celebrations, and manage to do it while being respectful (unlike the way GBBO has treated Mexican week, Japanese week, etc).
Absolutely! I think the diversity is done in the way that doesn't feel shoehorned in, and is just interesting. I love discovering all these new bakes. Also, I think it helps that Kyla and Bruno are open to different flavours and always tend to comment on how to make a bake better technically, but not so much whether it matches their personal taste or not.
One thing I miss about the original BBC seasons was the educational requirement placed upon the show, which resulted in those little segments where the hosts told us about the history of a particular ingredient or type of food. I would love if the shows would bring this back, especially when for challenges like this. Even though the hosts gave some quick explanations before each challenge, it would be nice to see a little more depth and some visuals.

Paul is always happy to see something traditional like chocolate with cherries but it's clear that he is typically skeptical of anything non-European. Kyla, Bruno, Rachel, and Darren all have wider ranges of flavors that they're comfortable with and they are much more open-minded about things that they haven't had before (which

My husband and I live for this show. Every season, we pick a “horse” (aka who we think we will) and talk shit the entire time. Mine this year is Pamela!
