No, but I have nothing against them. I'm just getting into fragrances.

A few months ago I bought a lot of samples from Luckyscent to explore. I was looking for a true straight tea scent, but ended up reading up on some other unusual fragrances. I read about Hot Bulb from Clue that was described as "the scent of an incandescent lightbulb- the yellow glow of the hot bulb, a layer of dust gently baking on its surface, illuminating the dry, cracked pages of a well-loved paperback book in a suburban rec room where the curtains still carry the faint trace of indoor smoking, while a soft vanilla wafts in from the kitchen".

I was like huh lol and threw a sample in the cart. I wore it and was so amazed that someone was able to bottle the scent of a hot incandescent bulb. You can smell the electric heat of the bulb, it's amazing. The brand finally restocked and I ended up buying a bottle.

I did find two tea scents that I'm still deciding between, One Day's Oolong and Chasing Scents' Tea Service. The latter is a bit of a sweeter tea smell.

Aaaaaand I smelled Diptyque's Philosykos recently and it's kind of funky, in a really good way. I can smell the ripe fig, but it's nestled behind the bright earthy greenness of the rest of the fig tree. I'm still deciding between the edp and the edt. The edp is softer, in the edt the leaf really pops out.

jeez wish I read this before I bought some fragrance samples recently, wanting a tea scent was what set me down this path in the first place (only decent one I've found is Vilhelm's Dear Polly, which I got compliments on at my job so I wanna buy a larger bottle lol) and now I'm interested in unusual/unique scents

Wow, that sample from Clue sounds so interesting, I'm not really into fragrances all that much these days, but I have been thinking about getting back into it... this definitely sparked that interest back up! Thank you for the rec!

i think luckyscent does a really good job balancing between super niche fragrances that only people who are really into perfumes would be into and more popular niche brands that keep the bills paid.

i’ve started ordering a fragrance wardrobe sampler from them every year for my birthday and it’s such a treat. imo they do a really good job of meeting what you ask for.

That's so funny! I've also been trying to find a tea scent that I like! I got hung up on a perfume oil that smells like Earl Grey tea and wanted something a bit more sophisticated. I tried Tea Service and another one I can't remember the name of, but going down a bit of a rabbit hole (on Luckyscent as well haha) I came across Vilhelm Parfumerie's Dear Polly. It's unique like fresh bergamot and black tea with a musky dry down and something kind of ozone-ish that smells expensive and delicious. I wasn't expecting to like it on first sniff, but on skin it turns into something different. I ended up buying their travel spray cuz it's stupid expensive. No regerts!
