A woman that was a smoker tole my Dad something like; "When you're a smoker, first you get asthma, then COPD, then you get emphysema, then cancer, then you die."
And that's what happened to her.

What's worse is people getting cancer from secondhand smoke. They never smoked a day in their lives & because they live(d) with a smoker, or worked where people were smoking, they have to deal with that.

Yep my paternal aunt died from second-hand smoke cause her dad smoked a lot. She never smoked a day in her life and my grandpa died from lung cancer.

I think Kathy Griffin got some lung issues from performing at comedy club where smoking is permitted but she herself is not a smoker.

Christopher Reeve's widow Dana died about a year & a half after he did from lung cancer. She never smoked, but in her early career often sang in bars and hotel lobbies where smoking was allowed.

makes me wonder about my own lungs, having had a parent who smoked inside and working in a restaurant back when there was a smoking section.

i always think about the dealer in the anti smoking ads who never smoked and died.

i recently had to get anesthesia for a surgery and they gave me this breathing tube thing to check my lung capacity afterwards, and even tho it's a week later i struggle to get it to the setting they set for me, and i imagine it's because i grew up with both parents smoking in the house/car around me all the time
