I’ve given up on thinking too much about the writing BUT LET IT BE KNOWN I pretty much agree with everybody’s takes above

This show is so, so over-the-top and ridiculous and extreme and dumb but I really love it and it’s exactly what I needed after last week’s nonsense. My partner and I just finished binging it and had a blast just non-stop laughing about the ridiculous situations that were CONSTANTLY going on.

Random assortment of thoughts:
[Spoiler (click to open)]-OFC the Russian team was caught cheating lmaooooo
-Ridiculous that Johnny and Miguel flew back to L.A. for one scene to confirm Carmen’s ok like why even include that???
-I hate the baby plot in general
-Poor Tory getting cheated on again (unless there was some kind of misunderstanding?)
-Poor Robby never having meaningful scenes with Johnny
-POOR KENNY!!!!!!!! My partner and I recently watched Unfriended so we were joking about how Kenny needs to haunt a Skype call with the Miyagi-Do/Cobra Kai crew like Leaky Laura
-Kim Da-Eun is growing on me
-Kwon had it coming
-Demetri is so slimy, you punched way above your weight and you’re acting like that behind her back???
-I feel like Hawk got nerfed - we don’t really get to see him shine anymore
-It seemed like Sam was just fighting Dublin Thunder the entire brawl lol
-I like Axel and Sam actually 👀

Absurd show. 10/10.

My favorite hilariously ridiculous plot in part 2 was [Spoiler (click to open)]Silver hiring an old Cobra Kai dude to lure Daniel to another part of town by pretending to have the address for the guy who might have information about the Sekai Taikai death, locking him in a dog cage, and then Daniel picking the lock using the parts from a Jesus necklace he bought on the street. This was straight up telenovela territory!

OMG how could I have forgotten to include that in my bullet list??? I kept bringing it up to my boyfriend during our whole binge watch

[Spoiler (click to open)]”THEY LOCKED UP DANIEL LARUSSO IN A DOG CAGE!11!!” Also, had to laugh that when Daniel fought the long-haired Cobra Kai dude that he was like “You know karate????” like yeah everyone in this universe knows karate for some reason get with the program, Daniel!

Re: Carmen - I felt like the only purpose of that entire plot was to give her a reason to be on screen during part 2 so that production could justify paying her for this installment. I felt the same way about all of Amanda's phone calls to Daniel, but at least she finally got to do something near the end with the whole Anthony/Kenny plot (I would have been really mad if all they gave her to do was facetime with Daniel as the supportive wife and then host a pizza party).

I get that the entire arc of part 2 revolved around the tournament in Barcelona but Carmen and Amanda felt really shoehorned in, as if the writers suddenly realized oh shit, we didn't give the only two adult female characters on this show anything to do for five episodes.
