They won’t be able to capture the same magic and frustration (with Julie specifically damn girl!) and mid 00s slightly fuzzy realism.

I don't even think they'll cast actors like her or Zach Gilford. It's probably an IG friendly cast

My god I couldn’t stand Julie lmao
I’m curious if I would like her better on re-watch but she was such a brat despite having amazing parents.

i do think thats what makes it perfect though. teens are terrible, it was so real

oh for sure.
I think what annoyed me most though is that every other kid on that show has a shit ton more they are dealing with and meanwhile she was the one acting out all the time lol

Not all teens can be as perfect as Saracen I suppose.

But isn't that normal? Like if you have everything, you can afford to whine, because you know you have a safety net. If you're worrying about food, health and survival in general, there's no real time to whine. At least that was my take on her character.

sure, that can be true, but it an also be the reason she is the absolute worst lol

Well, yes, the two can be true at the same time. LOL

I think in the end, it was why it was so charming. Every character, even the annoying ones, felt real. No way they will capture that again, but I hope they prove me wrong.

she's just as bad but she's a white girl in texas that didn't want for much and was an only child so like... is it not inaccurate? even with the most well-meaning parents, they still let her get away with too much so she became the brat she was. personally i hate julie but have love for aimee for playing the role well.
