The Ritz Carlton ship(s) are really new. The second only entered service the past few weeks, but reviews are very spotty LMAO.

But ships do NOT take a few days off between 7 day cruises lmao. They don't have seasons. They kick everyone off when they dock at 9 am, clean the main areas really fast, then start boarding again sometimes as early as 10 (when I was on Celebrity, we were on the ship by 10:30 and had drinks by 11). And the medical center on my NCL ship where I spent 6 hours over 4 visits and 2 IVs (severe ear infection) had no windows, was clearly old, and had an x-ray machine and that was about it.

This was on a newer Celebrity ship during COVID, but you get the point.

eta: I decided to put episode 1 back on and I noticed an oopsie FOUR SECONDS IN - they show the bridge wings for the ship, which is obviously using a real ship for establishing, but the ship in the show does not have bridge wings and the bridge is way too small for even a small cruise ship.

not everything that looks great is great, plus i don't trust most cruises in general to be great! it does suck that like actual cruises have such basic setups with old equipment. it seems like mostly they're using a hope and a prayer to keep everyone safe enough there.

omg this reminds me of a video i watched recently where someone pointed out that exterior, establishing shots in like the secret wives of mormons were showing the wrong kinds of churches.
