That's a very pronounced vertical line running around her navel. Clearly, I don't see a lot of pregnant bellies because I don't even know if that's typical.

Yeah it's a Linea nigra, it's pretty common in most women when pregnancy. That line is also visible even if you're not pregnant. I have one from the belly button down even though I've never been pregnant.

Interesting! Thank you for informing me of the technical term. My aunt, who has also never been pregnant (to my knowledge), might have it, too. I'm reflecting on 30+ year memories, though, so I could be totally off!
