I was so pissed when I saw this yesterday. Oprah's response makes sense, but why didn't she pay her own production company instead of having Kamala's campaign pay her team?

Also, how the fuck did Kamala's campaign raise over $1billion but they ended up $20mil in debt. What the fuck were they doing?

Money needs to be taken out of politics. The fact you even need to raise $1bill to be a viable presidential candidate is fucked up.

Is that 20 million dollars in debt legit? I have only seen Republicans bring it up so far.

I saw it in Twitter from multiple sources

what sources though?
all I see are republican run-sources with half-sentence clips of Lindy Li, and random people on twitter/facebook making claims/"jokes"/"laughing" about this claim when I look it up.

I watched Lindy Li talking about the campaign being and epic failure on fox news and she talks about how much the campaign raised said that it was a $1B debt and then corrected herself with the actual number of $1B20M raised.

She seemed to say that debt is to everyone who donated to the Harris campaign and that Lindy Li herself felt bad because she truly believed they would win that's why she got so many people, especially people close to her to donate.

You may be right about the $20mil debt being spread by the right. https://www.newsweek.com/kamala-harris-campaign-financial-mismanagement-1983889

I wanted proof so I looked it up and watched Lindy Li talking about the campaign being an epic failure on fox news and she talks about how much the campaign raised said that it was a $1B debt and then corrected herself with the actual number of $1B18-20M raised.

She seemed to say that debt is to everyone who donated to the Harris campaign and that Lindy Li herself felt bad because she truly believed they would win that's why she got so many people, especially people close to her to donate.

it's seems the republicans are happy to pretend she meant it was a $20M debt instead of continuing to listen to her talk-- or they had no option because the interview was cut apart and someone is just claiming she said this or that with not video proof or context.

This is what Newsweek is reporting. Seems like it may not be accurate https://www.newsweek.com/kamala-harris-campaign-financial-mismanagement-1983889

I know that they spent 700 million on targeted and tested ads from Future Forward PAC (I think this stems from the Biden era of the campaign). Since it's a PAC i'm not sure if this 700 million was part of what she raised or separate. I don't entirely understand how campaign finance for PACs works. It does seem like they put a lot of their eggs in this one basket though:

Oh is that what FF PAC stands for? I saw their commercials all the time, liked them, thought the name was weird.

700 million in targeted ads and they still couldn't get a decent message across, oy

why didn't she pay her own production company instead of having Kamala's campaign pay her team?

because she's a billionaire, and they'll do anything to save coin. financially, it doesn't matter who wins, she'll be set. but image wise? associating with harris helps. if the campaign is willing to cover the cost and not hurt her pockets (directly and indirectly), she's game.
