i don't think we really needed a 4th instalment to be honest, its sad they killed Darcy off to get this plot line going.
But having said that, I'm going to watch it, probably at the movies. It's nice to see a rom-com lead by a woman over the age of 50 since women in hollywood are not allowed to age like the men do.
I hope it does well, so we get more older-woman-led films in the future
Peacock is not available in Australia, but its being released there on the 13th of Feb, according to the IMDB, so maybe it will have a theatre release?
Ok quick google, i found on the guardian article about the trailer: Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is due for release on 13 February in Australia and 14 February in the UK and US, with the latter also seeing it debut on the Peacock streaming service on the same day.
I really want more romcoms with older women where they're allowed to look/act at least a little their age. I love like Diane Keaton/Meryl Streep/Shirley McClaine/Judy Dench type films (there are so few examples with woc), and I'm glad to see Rene looking a little bit more herself, though I feel like they always regress a bit of her character development with each new installment.
