I am so glad that Sam finally told Joel what Fred's wife said. I'm with him. Fuck Susan!

I want everyone on this show (except maybe Susan) to get a happy ending by the end of the season, but I wonder if Joel and Brad's relationship will survive. Once again, it seems like Joel is the one doing the compromising while Brad is obliviously but still selfishly doing his own thing. It's great when there are things you like to do together, but that doesn't mean you have to do those things together ALL THE TIME.

I know it seems like a minor thing, but Brad inviting himself to join Joel and then telling him to wait for him while he sat on his ass was a jerk move and I think it's indicative of Brad's general attitude. He is a kind and thoughtful person in general, but he can also be very thoughtless and selfish without realizing that's what he's doing. It's not like Joel announced he was going to see an amazing once in a lifetime performance of Brad's favorite artist. He was just going for a walk to get his steps in so Brad should have either said "have a nice time" or put away his reading if he wanted to go with him.

Joel is usually good at communicating with Sam, so I hope that he says something to Brad. He deserves better than a lifetime of biting his tongue.

Brad's personality seems to eclipse Joel's and he looks like he takes advantage of it, consciously or not. I wonder if the age difference has something to do with this dynamic?
