I always hoped they would revisit his story in DS9. I think his identity was changed in season four (maybe)? They could have done a pretty interesting story about him slowly regaining his memories.

It would’ve been cool, but it was such a perfect bittersweet ending to his story…when he asked Worf if he was his family and Worf answered he had no family

I honestly found it a bit weird Worf and Jadzia were just hanging out while Kurn is coming to from his memory procedure. Also not addressing the ethics of performing such a procedure without the patient's permission is definitely strange. I guess Bashir used his ethical objection energy up for the Kai when Bareil died, or O'Brien when he objected to helping the Jem'Hadar, or saving it for later when Sisko wanted the bio-mimetic ... I'm getting off-track. This is one of many Bashir issues which drive me nuts every rewatch.
