I had a feeling Cillian would win and it seemed to be a weak year. But I figured he'd win cause Cillian had been long accepted a good actor so that's play into his campaign. Plus he had RDJr in his team which helped a lot since Robert already had his long overdue narrative set in place.

I'm not sure that she doesn't know how to pick films, I just think she wanted to do what Leo and Kate did which was oscar bait after oscar bait until they won lol. I think now that she turned 30 she's maybe looking at her prospects cause maybe she did expect the win a bit earlier. Never too late to get into the mainstream game but I feel she should've done a long time ago. Can't totally see her as a Bond villain cause I think she still looks young, there's a reason she still gets those HS teen roles.

Tom a mess lol. I feel partially cause he broke out with something as huge as the MCU, that's gotta mess up beginners a bit cause it's so much in a instant. All the other MCU actors had work prior so they know how to network more cause look at Florence Pugh.

I've always known Emma was a hustler because I remember she did a NYLON interview where she was talking about doing her first SNL gig and then she got in with them which was smart cause thats it's own networking circles. I haven't been blown away by any of her roles and I think she's more limited than people think. But she's been lucky to get more of her critical in comedy genre and it's subgenre. Except for 3 films, all her films are comedy-ish films, she barely works outside of that genre!! Even her next films are comedy-based! She knows that her bread and butter and has successfully capitalized off it and at the some time fooled everyone into think she's this strong actress when she's not....cause Poor Things was not it!!

Yeah Zendaya is being cautious but a little too cautious. Yeah Challengers and Dune, she easily gets outshined so it's almost like those movies are more beneficially for her co-stars than her and you see this especially with Challengers. Cause I had seen Mike in West Side Story and didn't care for him there but I thought he was really great in Challengers. And Josh I already knew he was good cause I saw him in Emma and knew he had comedic chops, but then I kept thinking although he looks too English to be American....he's got range cause this, Emma, The Crown and some other movies....he's good. Meanwhile I look at Zendaya and I'm thinking okay smart move but you're getting outshone by the boys and you're the one who's producing and even picked the director loool!!

" I’m like girl, buy a script where you get to be the undisputed star with no co-stars to possibly overshadow you, don’t spend too much money on it so you don’t have to stress about box office too much, and build your body of work as an actress and thus good will for when you finally get your moment."

Problem is because she's not that strong of an actor, she's always gonna get outshone. Cause I'm thinking of Malcolm and Marie, which was a very small almost bottle-episode but it's a film. And it's just her and John David Washington annndddd he's the one eating up the scenery loool!! Zendaya most of the time is just fine. Like even if I think of Euphoria, I remember seeing comments here say that even though Rue gets the most story everyone else in the cast is much more interesting. Like Alexa is kinda typecast/limited/playing an extension of herse but I also see how it works and her it-factor in ways that Zendaya is always Zendaya.

I haven't been blown away by Sydney but again similar to Alexa, they do manage to at least lose themselves in roles. Plus Sydney takes more risk like her reasoning after Madame Web flopped but how it's just a role/paycheck and how it helped her get a deal with SONY was genius/finesse! Obvs Sydney is a white girl so she has more opportunities but for the same her hustler skills allow to work around it in ways that other white girls would start fading.

Jacob and Hunter have also done well for themselves. And none of them have her 2x Emmy wins! So a lot of it is taking those risks where again I get why someone like is cautious but also I think she has acting insecurities(?).

You would be surprised, people on awardsworthy and goldderby spent months hating on Cillian and calling him a bad actor because I think a lot of them wanted Bradley Cooper to win lol. I don’t like Bradley but I don’t hate him either but I also don’t understand why they were talking about Bradley like he’s a thespian who’s owed an Oscar.

The thing about Kate and Leo is that they were able to do Oscar bait movie after Oscar bait movie without their careers suffering because everyone and their mom knows them because of Titanic lol. To a lesser extent I think Cate Blanchett has also been able to have the career she has because she was Galadriel. But pretty much everyone else who doesn’t have an instantly recognizable role like that can’t afford to do endless Oscar bait because most people don’t watch Oscar bait. So these days you’ve got to make your name in a genre film (look how many young actresses made it big off a horror film) or TV. Or a famous relationship lol. I’ve said this on here before but my mom didn’t know who Timothee Chalamet was until he dated Kylie Jenner. I remember people acting like she wasn’t good enough for him, but to the vast majority of people who didn’t watch Call Me By Your Name she made him famous! After that Wonka and Dune made him known to a wider audience but Kylie came first!!

Yeah Zendaya isn’t the strongest actress but that hasn’t stopped plenty of other actresses lmao! I wasn’t that impressed by her in Euphoria either (only watched the 1st season though) but clearly a lot of other people were so i think she just needs to pick the right script, make sure she has the biggest role and no one else is going to overshadow her, and go for it. But IA with you, in her interviews she comes off anxious which I can recognize as a fellow anxious person which is why she makes such cautious choices.

Bradley never had a chance, granted I would've picked him for A Star is Born over Rami for Bohemian Rhapsody. I love me some Rami but I'll never understand how that glorified vh1 film got so far as to OSCARS!!

Oh 100% Kate and Leo owe Titanic! Cate I actually remember from Elizabeth before LOTR but LOTR def gave a stronger presence outside of drama films I guess. But both Cate and Kate were really smart with their careers cause they're fearless actresses who don't turn down risk! So that helps a lot AND both didn't 100% rely on Hollywood. But yeah you're right about celebs needing to build up their own compared to before. Timmy actually has been smart taking on commercial projects like Dune and light-hearted stuff like Wonka. Diversifing your range is alwaaaay smart. Even Paul Mescal going from indies to big budget IP-like Gladiator II is a interesting choice cause most people swear they don't want fame~ but I remember Paul saying while he'd be happy to do indies like Aftersun for the rest of his life...he also said he'd love to be in a film like Top Gun: Maverick. So yeah getting critical acclaim is great but getting those big mainstream films is even better to a degree.

Kylie: I MADE THAT BITCCHHHHH FAMOUSSSS according to your mom lol.

Euphoria def did wonders for her cause it helped her breakout especially with those 2x Emmys wins cause that gave her some legitimacy. But I've always that something with her and Sam worked on solely the Euphoria set cause Malcom and Marie wasn't gonna give her that Oscar nom.

I think her anxious probably comes from her place in the industry as a black/woc and how easily they fall off faster than white people depending on how their movies do. But interestingly enough I look at someone like Selena lol who's weaker than Zendaya but I think she's more of a hustler than her. Selena was smart and lucky to concentrate on the music for as long as she did when the acting stuff wasn't happening, staying in press because of her relationships for better or worse, linking up with Taylor and being her right-hand for a long time, and her beauty brand until something like OMITB really put her in a really good place. Funny enough she's even more riskier than Zendaya cause she did Spring Breakers early in her career. Like I always thought compared to Miley she transitioned well from disney kid to adult actor. So even there Selena managed to go outside of her comfort zone (without doing nudity btw) whereas Zendaya is trying to skirt around it with much more focus on her.

Btw I saw a clip of Selena in Emilia Perez and people are def overhyping her lol

Selena Gomez delivered a career best performance and deserves all the flowers for her work. Truly left me speechless pic.twitter.com/j0WrfCFkoC https://t.co/0Cu9FdSC9j
