It’s hilariously coincidental that three different versions of this show made tiramisù in the same week despite having totally different themes (coffee and tea on the Canadian show, Italian week on the Australian show, and desserts of GBBO).
Dylan’s coconut meringue nests really put him in contention for star baker right away and then he won the technical so I was holding my breath wondering if he would have a huge mishap during the showstopper.
I love peach so I was drooling over Gill’s showstopper.
But OMG Christiaan and rose water!
I’ve never had lemon with coffee before so I can’t say for sure if it’s as awful as the judges said it was (to be honest, I am always suspicious when they criticize unusual, non-traditional, or non-western flavors because they are very old fashioned and set in their ways about what flavors they like), but since week 1, I just assumed that Sumayah was going to be in the finale.
I like lemon deserts (I will remove the meringue in a lemon meringue because it ruins the lemon part) and I love tiramisu and I cannot imagine putting lemon in with coffee like that.
