And people want us to have hope for the world. How? Genuinely how?

because these things are cyclical and it’s either this or everyone just kills themselves and then what does that accomplish?

yes, it’s horrible and scary and utterly exhausting, but we’ll never get to a point where we won’t have to fight for what’s right. there’s never gonna be a time where everyone has all their rights protected forever everywhere.

we just have to do what we can and build community and get away from individualism. it sucks and i wish it was easier but as long as there’s people fighting then there’s always hope and good things worth protecting. it sounds like bullshit but it’s essentially what we live for.

What do you do if you have no friends or community where you live.

I go around wearing watermelon earrings, “Free Palestine” t-shirt all the time, I’m doing my best….

you do what you can! see if you can build community online, that counts too. maybe go to some events where you live to see if you can get to know people, even if they only end up becoming instagram mutuals. start slow.

building community doesn’t necessarily have to mean being close friends with your whole neighborhood and agreeing on all things. sometimes just making small talk with the cashier at the store or helping your neighbor move their couch is enough to get it started. and maybe the neighbor doesn’t understand stuff like pronouns or ethnic cleansing, but they think we should just let people live their lives and they help out at the church soup kitchen, and that’s already something! sometimes we get so caught up in the only good people being the ones who are up to date with everything social justice and who only use the right terms all the time that we end up alienating the well meaning people who make up the majority of the population.

I appreciate this. I do talk to ppl at the grocery store all the time! Strangers all the time! So this counts. 🤔😌 Sometimes about 🇵🇸/election, sometimes not. I really appreciate your encouragement. Have as good a day as possible.
