i just went to my one and only show and the chick behind me was telling security how many shows she's been to (like 6 or 7?) and i legit turned around and went DAMN because like. girl!
she goes "im just bad with my money ha ha" meanwhile her poor teenage daughter is holding her sleeping toddler the entire 3+ hour show. mess.
the thing is, she does everything EXACTLY the same, down to the little comments and mannerisms, every night, except for 2 songs in a 45 song set
once you've seen it, YOU'VE SEEN IT. it's so long i cannot imagine going through it multiple times. It's like a 6 hour experience at minimum if you show up for the opening act with all the lines, but i know a lot of people went earlier. THAT'S EXHAUSTING.
when i watched it on streaming with my mom we split it over two days because it's so long
because nothing's better than watching the same four hour shit every night through someone's grainy shaky livestream while hearing them scream and freak out
I know people who did too and I don’t understand it for this particular tour because every show is kinda the same with minor tweaks, if you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all, but it is a great show to see in general, I loved it, but I wouldn’t have watched it again because there’s nothing new except a different surprise song. It’s a lot of money to see the same thing.
I went once and I don't get it either. I can maybe get wanting to see it again since she changed up the setl ist to add in TTPD, but the older eras were the singles we've seen her perform a million times already so those sections get kind of boring.
I don't even understand how fans are watching the live streams so many times. I've only tuned in for surprise songs.
And because it’s Taylor, it’s literally the same show minus the surprise songs. Like she hits all the same marks and has the exact same speeches. There’s no spontaneity. It’s basically a sing along concert but I guess people go for the atmosphere and meeting others.
talking to my friends/people in my age group, i've learned there's a lot of people that can't afford the things they buy, but they just don't care and use credit. they want to show off or avoid FOMO so they will blow through whatever little savings they have without thinking of possible consequences. i have a friend who routinely spends more than her monthly income on vacations. my frugal and anxious ass could never lol, i went to an eras show and even though it was a small dent in my savings i still decided to limit some of my spending the next month
I will never understand the mindset. That would stress me out so much. I can be an impulse spender and I do sometimes put less in savings than I could've if I had reined in a little bit, but it's always within my means. Owing money on anything makes me so twitchy.
I dont understand it. Both why you need to go THAT many times and how they afforded THAT many times.
