so many ricans will still abstain (most don't even vote in elections on the islands) or vote for trump
they're culted

Not sure about that; Chicago, WI, and PA Ricans are mad as hell and saying they're voting Kamela, even the people who initially were going to only vote downballot or stay at home. The fuckwit that made the joke sorely underestimated how attached the average Rican who lives stateside are to the Motherland; if you insult Her, you insult them, and a lot of folks took that shit personally.

not the ones who didn't register, unfortunately. idk how it is state by state, but it was too late to register here in jersey.

it's anecdotal, for sure, but i know my family and friends and their family and friends might be pissed but so many simply dgaf enough to vote for kamala. i hope my family is the last shitty puerto rican holdout, but i doubt it. they're so apathetic when it comes to voting. i'm sure it has to do with knowing politicians won't do shit for the island anyway

It varies by state; here you can register up to election day. I also realize your mileage may vary depending on location as well so what's going on in my neck of the woods might not be happening around you.

the the key states where puerto ricans could sway the vote, it was too late to register, unfortunately. (PA and FL)

Tell me you have never even volunteered in any local/state elections ever. Take the L because these comments are embarrassing as fuck. You truly have no idea the huge ground game PRicans have in many swing states.

i'm talking about my friends and family. there's nothing being made up. you need to take it down a notch or five. i'm 100% hopeful the the people in my world are a huge minority. i'm glad you're working for local/state elections and have information otherwise, because i'm disgusted by it.

during obama's era, i did volunteer quite a bit. and when i lived in puerto rico, i helped a relative during gubernatorial campaign season. i've seen how much we care about elections.

legitimately from the bottom of my heart can't wait to be proven wrong.

i didn't even realize what comment you were replying to
tell me why you're commenting this in response to my saying it was too late to register to vote if they hadn't already by the time that rally happened? it was too late to register to vote. if they were pissed off and hadn't already registered, then who cares whether they stopped supporting trump? it was TOO LATE. jesus

This is 100% false and it’s shameful that you’re spreading misinformation like this. Do bettee.

Saying that the majority of the PRican population doesn’t vote in local elections is flat out false and a lie. We vote in a much higher percentage than the US. We are very engaged and care. Diasporricans are also very much engaged and active. Just because your family is full of Trumpers doesn’t mean the majority of us support him. Look at the 2020 statistics. You literally live in fucking Jersey ffs.

...and i lived in pr, and most of my family still lives there. i'm very glad to be proven wrong. i'm solely talking about my own life experiences. i don't like these truths but i have to live with them.
i never said the majority of puerto ricans vote for him

and yes, i live in jersey. lots of us here.

i'm glad you're having a different experience than i am.

Your opinion doesn't seem to reflect the majority.

Puerto Rican Pennsylvania voter: I was leaning toward voting for Trump, but not anymore. Puerto Rico means a lot to me. Those comments at Madison Square Garden changed everything. I have to stand on the right side of history pic.twitter.com/xffLUQNyG8

like i said, 'so many'. not most here. i hope to fuck the majority had the time to register and will actually go out and vote, but from my 4 decades of experience, we just don't. so i hope the younger generation is changing that - although according to the polling numbers, not so much.
